About the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ Sisters
The Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ is a Franciscan Charismatic Religious Community of 40 sisters based in Prayer Town, Texas, with mission houses in Amarillo, Texas; Monterrey, Mexico; and Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. Called to witness to the Gospel, the Disciples seek to draw all people into a personal relationship with Jesus through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. This charism flows from a deep life of prayer, praise, and ongoing conversion in loving commitment to one another.
The sisters profess vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience according to the Rule of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis, along with a promise to live in fellowship in the Spirit. Their ministries of prayer, praise, and evangelization include Life in the Spirit Seminars, Growth in the Spirit Seminars, parish missions, evangelization retreats, spiritual direction, prayer ministry, and customized talks at conferences and events. Through these apostolates, the Disciples serve the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the broader Church, helping people encounter Christ and experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
